The new leader of al-Qaeda is Ayman al-Zawahiri

Mariana Puzderi/ Chișinău / Moldova.ORG/ -- 60 year old Egyptian Ayman al-Zawahiri's appeal, who proclaimed himself the new leader of the terrorists of the world, appeared on Islamic websites. Report on approval of Ayman al-Zawahiri as the new leader of "al Qaeda" was sent by representatives of the terrorist group to the leading Arab media.

The activist who was considered for a long time as beeing the second important terrorist in the world, after Osama bin Laden, officially became head of the "al-Qaeda" group.

In his address to supporters, he vowed to continue the holy jihad against the United States and Israel.

The closest ally of Osama bin Laden, killed by the U.S. special forces, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was mainly considered the group's chief ideologue. Experts believe that he will remain to that. He will not deal with planning of terrorist operations and operational leadership.

Operational work will be taken over by a representative of the younger generation,Seif al-Adel. A month ago, only a few weeks after the elimination of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, this 50 year old Egyptian was appointed as temporary acting head of "Al-Qaeda".
