The failure of the elections from Buteni, district of Hancesti, will be examined by the General Prosecution

The General Prosecution will take a decision regarding the causes of the failure of the elections from Buteni. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took the decision to transmit these days to the prosecution the materials referring to the delay of the elections of mayor of Buteni on December 16th, DECA-press communicates.
At its last sitting, CEC heard the information regarding the attempt of organizing the elections in the locality, but it didn't fix the date of the new elections.
Some members of CEC believe that a solution for the situation created in Buteni may be the organization of new eections, the others believe repeated elections would be welcome. The commission took a decision in this context after the Prosecution will say its word.
CEC made several attempts in 2007 to elect the mayor of Buteni, but all of them failed. In summer 2007, the the candidate of „Moldova Noastra” Alliance was the winner twice, but each time, the results of the elections were cancelled at the demand of the representative of the Communist Party, Alexei Ieremia. CEC also made an attempt to organize elections in Buteni on October 14th, but Postolachi's supporters blocked the polling station as a sign of protest agains the fact that, their candidate had not been permitted to participate at the elections, and the elections couldn't take place. A similar situation was recorded on December 16th. // DECA-Press
