SEX SCANDAL: Tristane Banon sues Dominique Strauss-Kahn
Elena Vnorovscaia / Chişinău / Moldova.ORG / -- Dominique Strauss-Kahn won’t get away from judicial issues so easy.
Few days ago he was nearly free to go, but today it reveals that journalist and writer Tristane Banon will file a lawsuit Tuesday in connection with an alleged rape attempt by Dominique Strauss-Kahn in 2002, as her lawyer says.
David Koubbi, an attorney for Tristane Banon, said that the complaint would relate to an alleged incident that took place when the then 22-year-old woman went to interview Strauss-Kahn in an apartment in Paris.
Mrs. Banon has spoken out to claim that Strauss-Kahn forcefully tried to seduce her ten years ago in Paris, allegedly leaving her having to fight him off.At the time, her mother, Anne Mansouret, a regional Socialist official in Normandy, said she advised her daughter against pursuing a claim at the time.
The Mail also learned that three weeks ago, Strauss-Kahn attempted to make contact again with Banon. The 62-year-old apparently tried to befriend her through the social networking website Facebook, but was rejected.
Miss Banon claims she was forced to fight off the multi-millionaire financier when he behaved like a “rutting chimpanzee” during an interview in a sparsely-furnished Paris apartment in 2002.
Banon, now 32, has already discussed the incident few months ago. It was shortly after Mr. Strauss-Kahn was arrested in New York that Ms Banon came forward to say that he had tried to assault her.
Mr. Koubbi said the suit would be filed on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, U.S. prosecutors will proceed in this country with their investigation into the alleged rape of a hotel maid by former IMF chief Strauss-Khan, the former International Monetary Fund chief, as fresh revelations emerged in recent days that she has lied to prosecutors and to a grand jury.
Concerns about the reliability of his accuser in the New York have left that case reportedly close to collapse, and led to speculation in France that he might return to politics there.
But that won’t happen so simple now…
