Second meeting of Moldovan-Polish forum held in Chisinau
The second meeting of the Moldovan-Polish Forum for European integration was held in Chisinau, the Foreign and European Integration media and public relations department has said.
The meeting fits in the context of the Common Declaration of Moldovan and Polish premiers on cooperation in the EU integration field, approved on 18 February in Warsaw.
The Moldovan-Polish forum for European integration was headed by Moldovan Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman and the State Secretary of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Henry Litwin. The delegations of the two countries comprised representatives of the foreign, interior, health, construction and regional development, culture ministries, as well as of the Border Guard Service.
Plenary sessions, as well as meetings with the working groups of the national relevant bodies had been held. The experts assessed the implementation of the agreements adopted at the first meeting of the Forum, which was held in March 2010. Also, cooperation initiatives for the next period have been identified.
On the occasion of the Moldovan-Polish Forum for European integration, consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries had been held. A particular subject of the consultations was Moldova's European path. This issue is extremely important, given the fact that Poland will take over the chairmanship of the European Union from the second half of the 2011 year. Also, the delegations reviewed all the aspects of the countries' bilateral relations.
Within the Moldovan-Polish Forum for European integration, the delegations agreed upon the holding of the third round of the Forum in Warsaw.
