Romania supports Moldova’s efforts to get closer to the EU
Moldovan Ambassador to Bucharest, Iurie Renita met with the Romanian Foreign Minister, Cristian Diaconescu yesterday. The counterparts reviewed the developments on the bilateral agenda, including the visit of the Romanian official to Chisinau on January 31. A special attention was given to the joint meeting of the Government of Moldova and Romania which will be held in March.
Mr. Diaconescu said that the Intergovernmental Summit is “an important project for the bilateral agenda.” According to him, this project will contribute to the enactment of the co-operation calendar for 2012.
Cristian Diaconescu has reaffirmed Romania’s support for the Republic of Moldova’s European integration and congratulated the country for the positive results registered in Moldova-European Union relations. He urged the Moldovan officials to continue the efforts for a better approach with Brussels.
At the end of their meeting, the officials convened to continue the efforts of strengthening their privileged partnership in order to benefit as much as possible from the good bilateral co-operation between the states.
