Rogozin's visit to Chisinau could be canceled
The visit to Chisinau of Deputy PM of Russian Government, the special representative for Transnistria, Dmitry Rogozin, which was scheduled for mid-November, could be cancelled because of “a serious discord in Russian-Moldovan relations”, writes the Russian publication “Kommersant”, quoted by Infotag.
The gas supply contract to Moldova signed between Moscow and Chisinau expires in December, while negotiations on its extension came to a dead end, creating the danger of a new gas war. Moreover, the negotiations on opening a Russian consulate in Tiraspol were unexpectedly adjourned. According to Russian publication, Russian official’s visit to Moldova may be delayed because of these disagreements.
Moscow diplomatic sources previously declared that Rogozin would visit Chisinau on 15-17th November, while Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration says the official will arrive in Chisinau on 16th November.
Rogozin paid a visit to Chisinau in April.
