Protests in centre of Chisinau failed to take place

The protests in the centre of Chisinau, scheduled for Friday failed to take place, BASA-press journalist reports from the Piata Marii Adunari Nationale (PMAN) reports.

The manifestations authorized by the Chisinau city hall were due to start at 10.00 a.m. At the moment in PMAN there are only some journalists and a representative of the law enforcement bodies.

On Thursday evening, Premier Zinaida Greceanii called on the population urging the parents not to allow the juvenile children to participate in the street manifestations, because they are “easily manipulated” by certain forces.

Within the manifestations on 7 April the buildings of the Presidency and Parliament were vandalized, about 96 policemen and a juvenile were hurt. The General Prosecutor’s office filed only one criminal lawsuit related to the events.
