PDM takes over an old communist initiative

The Democratic Party from Moldova (PDM) took over an old communist initiative (from 2000, when the current governing party was in the opposition). Its aim is to cancel the debts of the population for conveniences, DECA-press Agency communicates.

Igor Klipii, deputy president of PDM, mentioned on Wednesday, at a press conference, that, in comparison with the communists, who proposed only the cancel of debts to the payment of conveniences in the case of inhabitants of towns, PDM proposes the extension of the action of the Law on the inhabitants of rural localities as well, especially in the context of payments for gas.

He reminded that the communists' initiatives was discussed in 2000, 2003, as well as in 2005, but no decision was taken in this context.

According to the law project, elaborated by PDM, the cancel of debts will start in 2009, so that the Government has time to prepare for this important measure.

Valentina Buliga, deputy president of PDM, president of the Parliamentary Commision for social protection, health and family, said that this project had been already discussed by the commission I am the leader of. According to her, in the framework of the discussions, it was discovered that neither the service providers nor the related ministries have some data base which would show what social categories and how much they owe for different services. In such conditions, it is difficult to say at this moment what the cost of the law project is.// DECA-Press
