Partial Romanian election results: Băsescu-50,33%, Geoană-49,67%

Traian Băsescu obtained 50,33 per cent of the din votes and Mircea Geoană 49,67 per cent, according to the partial results offered by the Central Election Office (BEC) at 2.00 p.m.

BEC counted the votes in 99,95 per cent of the voting sections by 14.00. The presence to polls was of 58.02 per cent.
At 9 a.m., after counting the votes in 95.40 per cent of the voting sections, Traian Băsescu had obtained 50.43 per cent while Mircea Geoană had obtained 49.57 per cent of the votes.

According to the data provided by BEC at the second election round, which took place on Sunday the total number of the electors registered on the copies of the permanent voting lists is 17,654,298, while the number of those present at the polls is 10,229.433, that is 57.94 per cent. The total number of valid votes is 10,095,938, that is 98.69 per cent, of which 133,419 nul votes, representing 1.3 per cent.
