OSCE PA president to visit Moldova
The President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares will pay a visit to Moldova in the near future.
The coming visit was discussed during a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister Valeriu Ostalep and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Philip Remler.
At the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged opinions on the latest developments in the process of settling the Transdniestrian dispute and the prospects of resuming the talks in the 5+2 format, involving OSCE, Ukraine and Russia as mediators and the EU and the U.S. as observes.
The two officials stressed the importance of continuing the measures aimed at building confidence between the two banks of the Dniester, saying that a definite solution to the conflict can be identified at talks in the 5+2 format, by respecting Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
