OSCE PA Chairman: Press report on Moldovan elections not correct
The statement reported in Moldpres on 29 June quoting Petros Efthymiou, Chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Second Committee, concerning the recent Moldovan elections, is not correct.
At the Assembly’s ongoing Annual Session in Vilnius, Mr.Efthymiou reiterated the post-election statement from 6 April, and the quote in Moldpres that the ‘election met all criteria’ is “erroneous,” Mr. Efthymiou states. This can be verified by the official records of the Standing Committee proceedings.
Mr. Efthymiou will head the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s observation mission to the 29 July elections and he looks forward this mission.
