OSCE is concerned about the tragic incident from Transnistria
Chisinau / Moldova.org / -- OSCE Mission to Moldova expressed its concern about the shooting of January 1 at the checkpoint in Transnistria.
“I am concerned that force was used in the Security Zone,” said Ambassador Philip Remler, the Head of the Mission. “I welcome the timely decision of the Joint Control Commission to mandate the Joint Military Command Commission to investigate the incident,” he added.
The Ambassador called for an investigation of the case including the actions of the peacekeepers and how they comport with the mandate, training, rules of engagement and instructions of the peacekeeping forces. He also expressed his condolences to the family of Vadim Pisari, the man who was shot dead.
“I extend my condolences to the family of the victim,” said Mr. Remler in an official statement of OSCE Mission to Moldova.
The Russian peacekeepers deployed at the checkpoint in Vadul lui Voda town shot deadly a teenager who was driving a car on January 1, 2012.
