No significant change in electoral results with 97 per cent of votes counted


The Party of Communists (PCRM) has harvested 39.9 per cent of the ballots, the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) 29 per cent, the Democratic Party (PD) 12.8 per cent and the Liberal Party (PL) 9.6 per cent, the Central Electoral Commission has said after counting 97.5 per cent of the votes.

The PCRM and the PD slightly narrowed their victory, while the PL and PLDM slightly improved their results.

As much as 11.6 per cent of the votes shall still be counted in Chisinau, while in other Moldovan settlements the vote count has ended.

As many as 102,973 people voted on additional lists, and 65,200 Moldovans cast votes abroad.

The voter turnout in the 28 November parliamentary elections was 59.10 per cent.
