New York: Russian army out of Moldova! (VIDEO)

A group of Moldovans protested on Saturday, January 21, in front of the Permanent Mission of Russian Federation to the UN in New York. They demonstrated against the deployment of the Russian army of the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

The organizers said that they want to inform the international public opinion about abuses and violations committed by the foreign troops from the Republic of Moldova. The protest was authorized and the police officers did not stay next to them.

“The police officers were quite concerned about the things that happen in our country, and therefore they let us protest without any restrictions,” said Florin Carlan, one of the organizers of the protest.

“Russian army out of Moldova!” “Abolish the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact” and “Evacuate the Russian army and armament from Transnistria” were the messages from the placards of the protesters.

Moreover, the protesters spread flyers to the bystanders informing them about the current situation from Moldova (watch video below).

The incident from Vadul lui Voda from the beginning of the year, when an 18-year-old man was fatally shot, has gathered hundreds of Moldovans from abroad on the streets to protest. They have demanded immediate withdrawal of the Russian army from Moldova, pulling back the Russian ambassador to Chisinau, Valeri Kuzmin and the punishment of the soldier who shot Vadim Pisari.
