New coalition to complete talks before first sitting of new parliament
Talks between four parties of the Alliance for European Integration, which was formed by the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM), the Liberal Party of Moldova, the Democratic Party of Moldova and the Moldova Noastra Alliance, will be completed a day before the first sitting of the new Parliament, LDPM Leader Vladimir Filat said at a news conference on Friday.
It was reported earlier that the first sitting of the Parliament may be slated for Friday, August 28.
"We hope that it will happen earlier. We wait for Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin to come back from his vacations and the signing of a decree on fixing the date of the first sitting of the new Parliament", Filat remarked.
He refused to give any concrete information about the distribution of the posts in the state.
"It is clear that everybody is impatient. I can only say that an expert group finished working out the program of the new Government and, as soon as we have political decisions, we shall unveil them", he added.
When asked about Ion Sturza, he said that it is not ruled out that Sturza will occupy one of the important posts.
"Sturza has all the presidential qualities, but it does not signify that he will occupy one of these posts now. We shall have a meting today or tomorrow and will discuss everything," Filat said.
