NATO will continue providing support to Moldova in implementing democratic reforms

NATO will continue providing support to Moldova in the implementation of democratic reforms - Robert Simmons, adjunct assistant of the NATO general secretary, delegated for security and cooperation problems in Europe, declared on Thursday, in time of a press conference held in Chisinau together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Andrei Stratan.
He mentioned, cited by DECA-press, that it is not necessarily important that Moldova joins NATO first and then EU, as it was done in a series of European countries.
Simmons assured that NATO follows the Republic of Moldova's constitutional principle of neutrality.
The official added that Russia had to follow the decision of OSCE summit from Istambul from 1999 and remoe its troops and weapons from the Transdniestrian region of Republic of Moldova. // DECA-Press
