Most Moldovans favour accession to EU, oppose NATO

Moldova's population speaks in favour of accession to the EU and against accession to NATO, according to an opinion poll carried out by the institute IMAS-INC. As many as 62 per cent of respondents said they were ready to vote for accession to the EU and 14 per cent objected. At the same time, 36 per cent of respondents spoke against accession to NATO, 19 per cent in favour and 28 per cent have not made up their mind yet, according to Infotag news agency.

The survey was carried out from 15 April to 3 May 2010 among 1,054 people from 75 population centres, with a margin of error not exceeding 3 per cent.
