Moldova's European integration efforts tackled in Berlin
An international conference, The European Neighbourhood Policy and the Republic of Moldova: Achievements and Prospects, was held in Berlin on 14 November.
The event is organised by the Leipzig-based Moldova Institute with the support of the German Federal Foreign Ministry, the Moldovan embassy in Germany, the European Academy in Berlin, Friedrich Ebert Foundation and Bertelsmann Foundation, according to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's press service.
The participants in the conference considered Moldova's European integration efforts and its achievements on this path. The discussions focused on ways of fostering the Moldova-EU dialogue in order to speed up the fulfilment of tasks included on Moldova's European agenda.
The rapporteurs highlighted Moldova's European vocation and the state's place in the new architecture of Europe. Another focus of the meeting was the Transnistrian conflict, with the participants mooting the prospects of solving it and ensuring regional security.
The head of the Moldovan delegation, Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Valeriu Ostalep alongside German MPs, pointed out Germany's role in the EU's policies on Moldova as well as the dynamism of the actions undertaken in the context of European integration.
The Moldovan official said that it is important that Moldova's citizens benefit from the consolidation of the Moldova-EU relations. // Moldpres
