Ghimpu said that Moldova had few chances to overcome the crisis without foreign investment and called on British businessmen to invest in the Moldovan economy.

Mihai Ghimpu also confirmed Moldova's European vector of development based on European integration and reforms.

For his part, the UK ambassador said that his country was highly interested in Moldovan-British cooperation in various sectors, and assured Chisinau that it may count on the UK's help. He called on the new Moldovan authorities to ensure a transparent legal framework for doing business in the country.
