Moldovan SIS delegation participates in CIS' intelligence meeting
A delegation of the Security and Information Service (SIS) participates in a meeting of the council of heads of the security bodies and special services from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held in Minsk on 28-29 May.
The participants in the meeting discuss the extension of cooperation between the security bodies in the field of combating the international terrorism and other violent forms of extremism, improving the activity of the CIS' Anti-Terrorism Centre, securing the Commonwealth countries' financial and banking systems in the context of the joint goals of combating the global economic crisis.
In Minsk, the delegation of the SIS, led by deputy director Mihail Bodean, will discuss aspects of the bilateral cooperation between the security institutions with some of their counterparts.
The council of heads of the CIS security bodies and special services was set up in 1997 in order to cooperate and coordinate actions aimed at combating international organised crime and other areas of activity of the Commonwealth's security bodies and special services.
