Moldovan premier meets chairman of Romanian Senate Geoana
Prime Minister Vlad Filat met Chiarman of the Romanian Senate Mircea Geoana in Bucharest today.
The two officials tackled aspects on the Moldovan-Romanian bilateral relations, the government's press service said.
"You have won the admiration of all Europe by the way you understood that Moldova's citizens have right to freedom, democracy, European values," Mircea Geoana said.
The Romanian official stressed that it is good news that, 20 years after the Berlin Wall's fall, the last communist regime from Europe collapsed. The speaker of Romania's Senate said that this is the merit of the new Moldovan political class.
Mircea Geoana said that, following the elections in Romania, the relations will Moldova will become priority. The Romanian official proposed to organise a joint meeting of the two countries governments in Chisinau or Iasi, eastern Romania, in the near future.
Mircea Geoana spoke out for the development of the bilateral relations between the two countries, so that both state flourish.
Geoana said that Romania will further support Moldova's European integration.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat declared for the return to the normal bilateral relations, emphasizing that Moldova and Romania will mutually support.
"We went through a dramatic period, but we have the strength to return to a normal way of development," Vlad Filat said.
The prime minister also said that Romania's role in the process of Moldova's integration into the European Union is decisive and Moldova's expectations in this respect are high.
The prime minister thanked for the support which Romania have been constantly providing to Moldova, and assured the Romanian official that Romania may rely on Moldova as a sincere and open partner.
Vlad Filat spoke out for the fact that the Moldovan-Romanian bilateral relations yield direct benefits for ordinary citizens.
