Moldovan premier: Failed polls not to harm relations with EU, IMF
The failure to elect president will not affect Moldova's relations with the EU or the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Prime Minister Vlad Filat said on 7 December after the repeat presidential election.
Filat said that he agreed with the EU and the IMF "not to link the election or failure to elect president to relations with Moldova".
"The government will implement the reforms agreed upon and we will have the promised financing. Moreover, all the members of the ruling Alliance for European Integration are aware of the fact that the country's future depends on the alliance's unity and on how we will continue the democratic reforms launched after 29 July [parliamentary election]," Filat said.
