Moldovan premier expected in Brussels in February


European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek today sent a message to Moldovan government, congratulating it on its re-appointment, the government's communications and press relations department has said.

Jerzy Buzek praised in his message the appointment of the government by the parliament and mentioned that Prime Minister Vlad Filat is expected in Brussels in February.

"I am sure that the government of the Alliance for European Integration will bring the political stability in Moldova and I praise the decision of the three coalition partners to cooperate in order to reach the common goal - a democratic, durable and prosperous country," the message said.

The EU official mentioned the need to further implement reforms and urged all political actors to find a solution to the constitutional stalemate, in order to elect the president.

"As I have mentioned during my official visit to Chisinau, in December, the EU backs Moldova. We praise the progress achieved in the past one year and a half. Moldova should further advance on this path," Jerzy Buzek said in his message.
