Moldovan officials participate at the Munich security conference

Important state officials participate in a three days long conference in the German city of Munich. The issues discussed are focused on the latest security developments around the world.

According to the official website of the conference, for the last decades “the Munich Security Conference has become the major security policy conference worldwide. Each year it brings together senior figures from around the world to engage in an intensive debate on current and future security challenges.”

Among the participants is Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State. Wolfgang Ischinger, who is the Chairman of the Conference, said that the new U.S. defense strategy does not mean it is abandoning Europe; “it reflects changes in global politics to which we Europeans have to find answers as well,” added Mr. Ischinger.

Moldovan Foreign Minister, Iurie Leanca is also present at the conference. He is accompanied by the Vice Prime-Minister for Reintegration, Eugen Carpov. Mr. Leanca will also have official meetings with his counterparts present at the conference.
