Moldovan foreign ministry starts talks on visa free regime with Turkey
Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) Secretary-General Mihai Capatina today had a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Moldova Ferit Ulker to make an analysis of the juridical framework in terms of visas between Moldova and Turkey, the MAEIE's media and public relations directorate has said.
The sides agreed to resume talks on the present visa regime between the two countries, so as to speed up the internal procedures necessary to sign an inter-governmental agreement on the abolition of the visa regime.
The Moldovan authorities' intentions to facilitate the regime of travels between the Moldovan and Turkish citizens fit into the priorities of the present Moldovan government.
The signing of this agreement will ensure the free movement of both countries' citizens, foreign capital, will encourage the development of the economic sector in terms of export and import, and will attract investments into the national economy. The new regime will also encourage tourism, contacts between people, cultural and academic exchanges.
