Moldovan foreign minister to fit his program in Moscow in one day
At 1900 hrs local time on Monday, Moldovan Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca will flow for a working visit to Moscow with a view to manage his visit program on Tuesday.
Last week, Russian foreign ministry's Official Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich stated at a briefing that Moscow regards Moldovan Deputy Premier's visit as "a positive moment in the development of the Russia-Moldova political dialog".
The visit program envisages Leanca's meeting with Russian Federation's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov, and the two officials will discuss a wide spectrum of bilateral relations and international events. The two ministers will proceed with their conversation on raising the efficiency of cooperation within the CIS frames, and are going to sign a Plan of consultations between the two foreign ministries for 2011.
The sides will sign also the 2011-2013 Program of inter-governmental cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, envisaging the two country's interaction in culture, education, sciences, information telecommunication technologies, health, migration processes, tourism, sports, youth policy. The Program envisages, in particular, the holding of the Days of the Russian Federation in Moldova (2011) and Days of the Republic of Moldova in Russia (2012).
In Moscow, Iurie Leanca will hold meetings with other Russian officials and with a group of political scientists specializing in international relations.
The MFA Spokesman said that, certainly, a substantial attention will be attached to the Transnistria settlement question. The Russian side thinks that a thorough and responsible analysis of the situation is needed, and that it will depend on the Moldova leadership which direction the negotiation process de-blocking will go in, and on which basis the parties concerned will be able to discuss compromise variants for a special legal status for Transnistria and guarantees of its existence in practice.
Alexander Lukashevich voiced conviction that the leaders of the conflicting sides must themselves agree upon a viable and lasting settlement of the complicated problems - agree on the basis of equal rights. It is exactly in such direction that these problems are discussed with the Chisinau and Tiraspol representatives in the co-mediation format of 5+2 and in contacts with the heads of main European countries and the United States.
