Moldova presented its position on Transnistrian settlement in Washington
Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister Victor Osipov this week participated in discussions on the Transnistrian conflict settlement at important think-tanks in Washington, such as the Centre for Strategic International Studies (CSIS) and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP), according to the bureau for reintegration.
Attending the event were officials from the Department of State, Department of Defence and American experts in the Transnistrian problem. Within the debates, Victor Osipov presented the Moldovan authorities view on the Transnistrian conflict settlement. He announced the elaboration of a national strategy of Moldova's reintegration.
The US experts showed special interest in the ways the confidence-building measures will be implemented, including under the aspect of assistance from which Moldova's eastern districts will benefit from the EU, the evolution of talks in the 5+2 format, the EU's and USA's role in the Transnistrian problem settlement process.
