Moldova might have a President as of today

The Moldovan Parliamentary Session has begun early today in a potential historical day for the country. The Assembly is due to have another attempt to elect the President of the country. Nicolae Timofti is the only candidate for the Moldovan Presidency. He has been proposed by the ruling coalition (the Alliance for European Integration) and needs the support of at least 61 deputies.

Today we will find out if Moldova will have a President or not yet. The country hasn’t had a president since April 2009. The current acting President is Marian Lupu, who is also the speaker of the Parliament.
