Moldova hopes OSCE summit to help remove Russian troops

Moldova hopes that the council of OSCE foreign ministers due to meet in Athens on 1-2 December will contribute to the final withdrawal of Russian troops from [Moldova's breakaway] Dniester region, Moldovan Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca has said ahead of his visit to Greece.

The Moldovan delegation to the OSCE summit also includes Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Popov and Deputy Prime Minister in charge of reintegration issues Victor Osipov.

Earlier, Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Democratic Party leader Marian Lupu said that a document on the stationing of Russian troops in the Dniester region would be signed at the summit.
