Moldova has a new Russian Ambassador
The assumptions of the Russian press came true. Farid Muhametshin, the former head of the Federal Agency for CIS is the new Ambassador of Russia to Chisinau. The Commission responsible for affairs with the former Soviet countries approved today Farid Muhametshin for this position.
Valeri Kuzmin, the former Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova said during a press conference that he can’t wait to be replaced.
“I hope that the Russian President will name a new Ambassador to Moldova soon,” said Mr. Kuzmin two weeks ago. He served in Moldova for more than five years.
Farid Muhametshin is 62-year-old and holds a Doctor’s Degree in Political Science. During 2003-2008 he was the Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
