Moldova has a new governor of the central bank
Dorin Dragutanu has become the new governor of Moldova National Bank (MNB) after having been elected by 52 Members of Parliament of the Alliance for European Integration on Friday, DECA-press informs.
The communist opposition faction refused voting for Dragutanu. They motivated “he is not a notorious person in the banking field”.
The new governor declared that MNB priorities for the next period of work are maintaining stability of prices and unblocking of the activity of economic agents lending.
The mandate of governor is provided by the Parliament for a seven-year term.
Dorin Dragutanu is 35 years old. Since 2008 till present times, he was the director of the audit department of „PricewaterhouseCoppers” Company from Serbia. He started working in the financial-banking system in 1996 at a commercial bank from Chisinau.
Before Dorin Dragutanu, Leonid Talmaci was the MNB governor for 18 years.
