Moldova - final results of local elections in Chisinau: Dodon - 48.07%, Chirtoacǎ - 46.51%
Chisinau / Moldova.ORG / - Central Election Commission presented the final results of local elections in the municipality of Chisinau dated June 5. After processing 100% of the ballots, the candidate of the Communist Party in Moldova, Igor Dodon gained 48.07% (166,232 votes), Liberal Party candidate, Dorin Chirtoacǎ, 46.51% (160,827 votes) and Democratic Party candidate, Valentina Buliga obtained 2.56% or 8848 of the total votes.
Regarding the results for City Council Chisinau, after 100% of the votes, there is the following situation:
Communist Party in Republic of Moldova garnered 46.11%,
Liberal Party - 31.82%,
Liberal-Democratic Party - 13.99%,
Democratic Party - 3,13%.
According to final results, a second round will be held in Chisinau, in which the communist Igor Dodon and liberal candidate, Dorin Chirtoacǎ will fight for the position of general mayor of Chisinau.
We recall that according to the Election Code, a candidate is considered to win after acumulating 50% plus one vote in the first round of elections. If no candidate gets the score, in two weeks a second round is organized, where the two candidates who have accumulated the highest number of votes in the first round of elections are going to fight.
