Moldova: Ex-speaker Marian Lupu leaves the Communist Party
The former speaker, Marian Lupu, announced on Wednesday he was leaving the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM). Yet, he will preserve his visibility in the political life of the country, DECA-press Agency informs.
The former speaker declared that the national interest could not be monopolized by one single party and used as an instrument of manipulation, dividing the society into “patriots” and “betrayers”.
How can you accuse the opposition parties of coup d’etat and then address them the offer to participate in the governing process, Lupu wondered. He stated that the "geneses of the political crisis are here, in Moldova, and not outside it”.
Marian Lupu also declared he didn’t want to contribute to increasing social conflicts.
Last week, Radio „Free Europe” announced that Marian Lupu would leave PCRM, but the information was denied by the former speaker. The press wrote this week that Marian Lupu may become the locomotive of the social-democratic pole for anticipated parliamentary elections. After that, he could fuse with PCRM.
