Moldova election: 30% of voters voted by 12:45
Moldovan citizens with the right to vote turned out in a proportion of 29.9% by 12:45, according to the estimations of the Central Election Commission (CEC), in particular over 755 thousand voters voted on main lists and over 33 thousand, on the additional ones.
The CEC secretary, Iurie Ciocan, mentioned that in Basarabeasca 42.5% of voters, in Donduseni 41.6% , in Ocnita – 38.8%, Taraclia- 36.9% and in Soldanesti 36.5% of voters have turned out.
In Chisinau municipality 27.5% of the voters and 26% of the Balti voters have already voted by this time. The lowest turnout was registered in Cahul- 14.9%.
Hincesti and Rezina districts have not submitted their turnout yet. According to parliamentary elections on 5 April 2009, over 27% of citizens turned out by 13:00.
According to the last changes of the Electoral Code, the preterm parliamentary elections would be considered valid if at least 1/3 of the voters took part in it, compared with ½ that took part in the parliamentary elections on April 5.
CEC will present the next data regarding the turnout by around 16:00.
