Moldova and the United States assess their 20 years of diplomatic relations
The United States of America will continue to support Moldova on its way to democratization and reforms implementation. The statement was given by the US Ambassador to Moldova, Willian H. Moser during his meeting with the Moldovan premier Vlad Filat. The discussion, which was held today, focused on the Moldovan-American relations, current political deadlock and the latest developments in the management of the conflict in Transnistria.
Vlad Filat said that he is hopeful the next “5+2” negotiation format talks, which are to be held in Dublin at the end of February, will initiate a positive dynamic of the conflict solving process. Ambassador Moser said that it is important to keep a comprehensive dialogue in the management of conflict in Transnistria and assured that the United States will continue to get involved in this issue.
The counterparts expressed their gratefulness on the relations between countries after 20 years of diplomatic contact. On February 28, the USA and Moldova will celebrate this day by organizing several joint events.
