Marian Lupu to participate in the 24th International Socialist Congress in South Africa
The speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Marian Lupu will participate on August 30th – September 1st in the proceedings of the 24th International Socialist Congress “For a new internationalism and a new culture of solidarity”, which will take place in Cape Town, South Africa. The speaker will be accompanied by a delegation, among which the MPs Dumitru Diacov and Oleg Tulea.
Congress proceedings will be opened by the President of the International Socialist, George Papandreou, the President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma and General Secretary of IS, Luis Ayala. The meetings will be attended by heads of state, prime ministers, as well as representatives of social-democratic parties.
Marian Lupu is one of the main rapporteur at the second panel of the Congress, during which issues related to the protection of civil rights and freedoms and strengthening of representative democracy will be discussed.
