High European officials to visit Moldova

Two European officials will visit the Republic of Moldova soon. Karel de Gucht, the European Commissioner for Trade and Knut Vollebaek, the High Commissioner of National Minorities will travel to Moldova on a working visit, informs Tribuna.md.

According to the source, Karel de Gucht will visit Moldova on February 27-28 during the first negotiation round regarding the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. He will meet the Moldovan Premier, Vlad Filat and the acting President, Marian Lupu.

Knut Vollebaek, the OSCE Commissioner will travel to Moldova on March 16. He will conduct a research on the ground about the current situation of the national minorities.

At the moment, the OSCE representatives to Moldova prepare their visit. Yesterday they travelled to the southern parts of Moldova and had talks with Valerii Ianioglo and Nicolai Stoianov, heads of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
