Head of state discusses Transdniestria conflict with US officials

President Vladimir Voronin, Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs David Merkel and U.S. Charge d'Affaires Rudolf Perina discussed the Transdniestria dispute at a meeting in Chisinau on July 21.

According to the presidential press service, the discussions centered mainly on the prospects of resuming the talks in the 5+2 format. President Vladimir Voronin reiterated the necessity of identifying a solution to the Transdniestrian conflict at the talks in the 5+2 format.

The officials also discussed issues related to the bilateral relations and shared opinions about the latest developments in the negotiations between Moldova and the EU and in the Moldova-Romania relations. //REPORTER.MD
