Green light to SIS: Candidates for public posts will be examined
President Vladimir Voronin Thursday promulgated a law that allows the Security and Information Service to examine the holders and candidates for public posts.
The decree issued by the head of state says that the aim of the law is to prevent and combat negative phenomena at public institutions, which discredit the public posts and cause damage to the national security interests.
The law says that the inspections are mandatory and are carried out at the request of public institution heads with the written consent of the holder or candidate for public post. The examination results will show whether a person is suitable or not for the post applied for.
If the candidates refuse to be inspected, they will not be appointed to the public posts or will be dismissed if they already hold such posts, or could be transferred to a post where the inspection is not mandatory.
