Foreign ministers of Poland, Sweden, UK to make an official visit to Chisinau
The Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, William Hague, the Foreign Minister of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, and the one of the Kingdom of Sweden, Carl Bildt, will make a joint official visit to Moldova, at the invitation of Moldovan Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca.
"The visit in the trilateral format will take place in a significant year for Moldova. It reaffirms the support of Great Britain, Poland and Sweden for the European integration efforts of our country, which is at the last phase of the negotiations on the Association Agreement with EU", reads the release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Moldova was previously visited by the Polish and Swedish Foreign Ministers in December 2010, and the German and British Deputy Ministers in September 2010.
To note that this will be the first visit of a senior British official in the history of Moldovan-British bilateral relations. Moldova is the first Eastern Partnership member country to be visited by the British Foreign Minister. The visit the three Foreign Ministers to Chisinau will take place on 18-19 February.
