European integration is Moldova's absolute priority - Lupu


European integration is an absolute priority of the domestic and external policy of the Republic of Moldova, whose leadership will be making all in its power to deepen and broaden cooperation with the European Union, the country's Acting President and Speaker of the Parliament Marian Lupu stated during his meeting with Ambassador Dirk Schuebel, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, on Tuesday.

Marian Lupu said that the realization of this and other objectives, set by the new Government formed by the Alliance for European Integration, as well as the promotion of started democratic reforms depend crucially on political stability in the republic.

Lupu highlighted several priorities on Moldova's European integration path, such as invigoration of negotiations on the EU-Moldova Association Agreement and on visa regime liberalization, realization of the possibilities of regional cooperation in Central and Southeastern Europe.

Speaker Marian Lupu said that in the nearest future Moldova will form its delegations to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and to the Euronest - the Parliamentary Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Program member states.

Ambassador Dirk Schuebel said the European Union approves of Moldova's European integration goals, including those set in the new Moldovan Government's Work Program.
