EU welcomes the reforms made by Moldova

European Union thinks that the election of the President in Moldova will provide the needed stability in order the country to continue its reforms. The statement was made in Brussels today during an official meeting of the Moldovan Premier Vlad Filat with Graham Watson, the Rapporteur for the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU and Joseph Daul, the leader of the European People’s Party of the European Parliament.

The European officials emphasized that EU will continue to support Moldova. The Premier gave a background of the actions implemented by the Government.

“The ascending evolutions of our dialogue reflect a high degree of maturity of our relations. We want to turn Moldova into a democratic state with an economy which applies the most efficient developmental practices of the European model,” Vlad Filat said.

23 out of 25 chapters of the reformation set were already closed, the sides welcoming the progress registered.

The European officials will visit Moldova during the upcoming summer or fall, accepting Mr. Filat’s invitation.
