EU to help Moldova introduce public policies
The project called "European Union mission to render consulting assistance to the Republic of Moldova in the public policies field" was launched in Chisinau on Monday, the governmental press service reported.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Moldova's Project Coordinator, stated at a working meeting he highly values the European Union's readiness to render assistance to Moldova in implementing democratic reforms for a soonest-possible political and economic association.
The Mission will be attracting international experts to the activities of the administrations of the prime minister and the Ministries of Economy, Finance, Justice, the Interior, Agriculture and Food Industry, National Tax Inspectorate, Agency for State Purchasing so as to render expert assistance in the preparing, implementing and monitoring of public policies.
Premier Filat said these structures require consultancy assistance from international experts, whose coming to Chisinau is expected in early March, and "we hope they will become not only friends to our country but also Moldova's unofficial ambassadors abroad".
Dirk Schuebel, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Moldova, reaffirmed the European Union backs Moldova on its path to democratization, and will be further promoting its sustainable development. For this, he said, the European Union will provide for responsible state officials, taking part in the project, the consulting assistance in the process of realization of the Government's work program.
The 2010-2011 Project is being implemented by the United Nations Development Program.
