Estonia sign programme of cooperation in regional development
The Moldovan Construction and Territorial Development Ministry and the Estonian Interior Ministry signed a programme of cooperation in regional development in Chisinau on 7 July.
The Moldovan ministry s press service has said that the sides agreed on joint elaboration of regional development policies and cross-border cooperation in order to assess the compliance of Moldova s policy with the EU standards and to take adjustment measures. The Moldovan side will also learn about Estonia s procedures to attract assistance and will be helped to step up the capacities of institutions dealing with regional development.
The sides will hold two rounds of inter-agency consultations in 2010-11 to discuss regional development and cross-border cooperation. Also, Moldovan experts will pay a study visit to Estonia to exchange information.
The cooperation programme will be financed by both signatory sides, which will also cooperate to secure EU s neighbourhood support and to attract other funds as well.
