Elizabeth Edwards speaks of John's affair
Elizabeth Edwards said she was physically ill after her husband, former U.S. senator John Edwards, told her he had an extramarital affair.
In an advance copy of her upcoming memoir, Edwards said she cried and screamed
after being told.
I went to the bathroom and threw up,
Edwards wrote in her memoir of her husband's affair with his campaign videographer Rielle Hunter.
Elizabeth Edwards, 59, wrote that she wanted her husband to quit the 2008 campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination, in the interest of protecting their family.
Her memoir, called Resilience,
is scheduled to be published May 12 by Broadway Books.
John Edwards is a former North Carolina senator and the 2004 vice presidential nominee. He admitted to the affair after The National Enquirer reported he had fathered a child with Hunter.
