Divergences between modernism and archaism

By Andrei Munteanu

In the Moldovan politics there have been “infiltrated” so many prejudices and stereotypes, that any manifestation of modernism in the public dialogue is taken as a „federal case”. This kind of prejudices are neither exceptions in the behavior of the political leaders with new, modern and pro-European aspirations, but with outdated habitudes.

Of this category of prejudices is the reaction of the AEI leaders who have shown their indignation for discourse of the Prime-minister on the need to assign back the ministers to the cabinet.

Suppose we disregard everything and admit that this initiative is not an adequate declaration, that in the electoral campaign the ministers who are involved in the rally need to be replaced by a deputy-minister, etc., however, it is not clear where does indignation come from?

Such an elementary initiative provokes useless discussions and it is not unessential, that they emerge around a fact which should be inversely – cultivated among the political class and in the society at large. The political dialogue between the key decision makers, even in a coalition government, does not need mandatorily „deals” in small groups and „filtration” or manipulation of information, at every step.

We need also in the R.M., a civilized and transparent political dialogue, and the fact that it is being carried out via mass-media including cannot be a trouble, but conversely. Not any word and thought, which is being set forth in shape of initiative in the public policies, needs to be „discussed” in advance „in the frame of the alliance” because anyway, the alliance is a governance coalition of a statehood and not a Board of a LTD, which keeps to some narrow interests, and one „needs to see” what can be done about… the “pending audit”.

Probably it would be good that those who get involved in critiques first of all find some more modern advisors, with broader visions, and still, refrain from getting angry so quickly.

Indeed, these frictions in the frame of the alliance are not nice, and it would be also very good to think double before criticizing the free manifestation of thinking and initiative promotions. Otherwise, one could forget that the political discourse can be affected by the whims, instead of rationales, and the whims, according to Oscar Wilde – differ from lifelong passions by the fact that: „… caprices last a little longer”.
