Constantin Marin - new president of Teleradio-Moldova Company
The Observers’ Council of „Teleradio-Moldova” (TRM) Public Company elected Constantin Marin as president of this institution with five of nine votes, DECA-press Agency informs.
PhD in political sciences, Constantin Marin (55 years old) is the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Sciences of Communication of the State University since 2004.
As president of TRM, Constantin Marin announced that “he will opt for the activity of the Company in the people’s interest, removal of political involvement or pro-Power activity of the Company. It will focus its activity on the citizen’s information needs”. “I will be for the editorial independence of the company and institutional autonomy in order for TRM to regain its credibility”, Constantin Marin said. He thinks “TRM needs 3 to 5 years to recover”.
Constantin Marin started his career of journalism in 1977 working for „Radio Moldova”, as an editor. In the period between 1992 and 1994, he was the editor-in-chief of Radio Moldova International Editorial Office. He attended a number of scientific and didactic internships abroad, including in Rome, Berlin and Madrid.
Constantin Marin’s predecessor - Valentin Todercan – was dismissed at the end of December 2009 by the Observers’ Council. Todercan contents his dismissal.
