Communists submit inquiry against Liberal Party leader to Moldovan top electoral body
The opposition Party of Communists (PCRM) today submitted an inquiry to the Central Electoral Commission, accusing the leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu, of electoral propaganda on election day. This is the first inquiry submitted today to the CEC.
A representative of the Party of Communists, Vadim Motarschi, said that Ghimpu "accused the Party of Communists on 28 November, describing the Communists as losers, liars and manipulators, seeking personal welfare," Motarschi said.
According to the PCRM, the leader of the Liberal Party violated the Electoral Code, because discussions about the electoral contenders' political or professional qualities are a form of electoral propaganda. The PCRM asked the CEC to submit the materials of the inquiry to the Interior Ministry.
