Communists' leader wants to cease constitutional crisis after polls
I have cast my ballot in order to put an end to the ongoing constitutional crisis. I voted for Moldova's development, for the improvement of living conditions and for securing a European future, the former president and now leader of the opposition Party of Communists (PCRM), Vladimir Voronin, has said.
Voronin expressed conviction that the forces that would overcome the political crisis would win the election.
He added that he was sure that the next election would be held in four years. "People are tired of endless polls and do not trust politicians."
The Communist leader said he had never negotiated with any party, but he would go for a post-electoral coalition. Voronin noted that the PCRM was carrying out a parallel vote count, along with the Central Electoral Commission, in order to avoid eventual fraud.
