China to offer more scholarships to Moldovan students
In the near future, Moldova and China are planning to organize a special session of the Moldovan-Chinese International Cooperation Commission. The forum intends to issue concrete measures to bolster cooperation in different areas, to attract new investments and to launch joint projects in agriculture, infrastructure, energy, telecommunications and the advanced technology sector.
China is also planning to increase the number of scholarships it gives to Moldovan students willing to seek a degree in their country. Up to five Moldovan students every year get the opportunity to study in a Chinese university. The Chinese Government provides these students with free accommodation, a monthly stipend and free health insurance. These students are also exempt from paying tuition fees.
Moreover, China wants to start an exchange program for employees of the Foreign Ministry. In this way, the young diplomats of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will have the opportunity to attend trainings and conferences organized by the Chinese foreign office. This initiative strives to bolster interest in Moldova towards China.
